She was the quirky delight of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season One…the Texas comedy queen with the nuttier than thou delivery, the one and only Tammie (with an “i e”) Brown. She went home relatively quickly on her season, but the kooky comedienne has earned herself a big fan base with the arty drag loving crowd; her background in legit theater and her live singing/comedy chops put her in the same category with other beloved “live” drag performance artists like Varla Jean Merman, Pandora Boxxx and our own Jinkx Monsoon.
Tammie Brown popped into Seattle last fall, (and, Mr. Strangeways had the odd pleasure of being witness to the first meeting between Miss Brown and Miss Monsoon outside of Neumos…it was a bit of a surreal experience…) and now it’s been announced that Tammie is returning to Seattle on Saturday, May 11, 2013 for ONE NIGHT ONLY at Re-bar for a late night show at 11pm called “Tammie Brown’s Coming Together Concert”. Tickets are now available at BrownPaper. It’s a 21+ show so it’s fun for the entire adult family.
Also joining Tammie will be her special musical guest/collaborator Michael Catti…we’re guessing that this will be a music heavy show.
And, it should be noted, that in “boy mode” Tammie is really Keith Schubert and an equally adorable hipster boy with a FANTASTIC fashion sense…we wanna pump Tammie/Keith for where he finds his sweater vests!
