Saucy Anita Goodmann hosts her annual Tax time show with special guest Derek Sheen + more funny people on April 8, 2015 at Re-bar!

On April 8th, at 8pm, stand-up comedy makes a rare appearance at Re-Bar. We asked Miss Anita Goodmann, the Mistress-of-Ceremonies at Sex & Drugs & Tax & Trolls – Wednesday night’s offering to the comedy gods, to track down headliner Derek Sheen, fresh from performing in San Francisco with Brian Posehn of The Sarah Silverman Program.

Poor Anita finally caught up with Derek at a tiny bar in southwest Washington where he was doing “progressive comedy for a bar full of kids starving for culture and a bunch of blue collar loggers, farmers, and bikers.” This guy is a true, modern day Johnny Liberal-Appleseed.

Miss Anita: Where are you right now and what are you wearing?

Derek Sheen: I’m in Amboy, WA about to do a show for loggers and I’m wearing a great v-tee with a grandpa sweater and bowling shoes.

Anita: How do you feel about the recent rise in the “lumbersexual” look? Do you think it will catch on in places like Amboy?

Derek: I kinda dig the “lumbersexual” look but I think that there’s no one in Amboy that knows how to do a double fade or cut in the part on someone’s hair-do.

Anita: If there’s one piece of advice you’d give a 14-year old from Amboy, what would it be?

Derek Go find and listen to the following albums: “Rocket To Russia” by The Ramones, “Repeater” by Fugazi, “Closer” by Joy Division. Then watch Repo Man and realize you don’t have to live in Amboy forever. Just a couple more years and you can start making exit plans!!

[Derek then disappears for ten hours]

Anita: Well, now it’s Easter Sunday. What is in your basket?

Derek: A copy of Going Clear [the recent book about Scientology], Watermelon flavored Peeps, and my special deviled eggs with English mustard. I’m planning on hiding all these inside a Walgreen’s later today.

Anita: Being a stand-up comic as a career – is it better than working in retail?

Derek: In comedy there’s fewer hours, there’s no overtime, and the “customer complaints” are far more personal and soul crushing.

Anita: Oh, one last thing, what are you doing this Wednesday?

Derek: Sleeping until 6pm and then pulling my act together for THE show of the year Sex & Drugs & Tax & Trolls at Re-bar with the illustrious Anita Goodmann and a boatload of my funny friends!

Anita: Correct!
