Shticks Dazzles in The Libertinis’ Maniac at 18th & Union Arts

February 20, 2018• byJohn Paul Sharp

Woody Shticks in Maniac by The Libertinis

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend that is equally unique and fun, you should definitely go see Maniac by The Libertinis, featuring Woody Shticks.  It’s a one-man show with a lot of work put in behind the scenes.  If you’ve seen a Woody Shticks show before, I can tell you, he does not disappoint with his new installment of dancing, storytelling, and unapologetic statements about life. And by life, I mean the ultra-gay, super-amazing, wish-you-were-this-talented kind of dancer’s life.

You’ll be dazzled by his stamina. Some of you may relive your own wild memories with all the great 1980’s fitness songs Shticks performs to. If you’re looking for a show to see where you just sit quietly and absorb, this may not be the show for you. In fact, anything less than full participation and loud expressions of joy would just be … awkward.  He likes eye contact. You’ll want to come ready to party and be present. If so, you’ll have the time-of-your-life.

Shticks offers more than just puns, sexy times, and high-impact dancing. There’s substance and depth swimming beneath the surface of his hilarity. This show is well-rounded, well-rehearsed, and a great value for your precious theater dollars.  You won’t be sorry you spent money on tickets to this show.  This would be a great opportunity for you and your friends to share a memorable evening and talk about it for years to come.

I can’t recommend it any higher than I already have!  You’ve only got this upcoming weekend left to see it. What are you waiting for?  You don’t want to miss it! I give Maniac a million queer stars! What about you? Did you see the show?  What did you think?

Maniac runs Friday and Saturday at 9:30p, Feb 23 & 24, at 18th & Union in the Central District. Choose your own ticket for $15, $20, or $25. Learn more about everything at 18th & Union and updates of Woody’s world domination by visiting www.18thandunion.org or www.WoodyShticks.com!
