LGBTQ SIFF Spotlight: “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” and “We The Animals”

Here’s two big LGBTQ films to check out Memorial Day Weekend at the 44th Seattle International Film Festival. THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and WE THE ANIMALS stars Raúl Castillo from HBO’s “Looking”. Both are worth a check out on Friday and Saturday and both films will have guests in attendance.

Chloë Grace Moretz stars in Desiree Akhavan’s poignant indie drama about three gay teens who meet at a dubious conversion therapy camp in the 1990s, where they refuse to “pray the gay away” and instead accept themselves for who they are. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

Justin Torres’ acclaimed autobiographical novel comes to life with Shiela Vand (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night) and Raúl Castillo (HBO’s “Looking”) as the volatile parents of three wild boys, the youngest, most sensitive of whom is on the cusp of exploring his homosexuality.
