It’s Official! Dina Martina Is A Genius! (Also, Xmas Show Tix On Sale…)

FINALLY! The Stranger has corrected a long standing failure on their part to award local performing artiste and legend, Dina Martina, aka the brilliant Grady West one of their much sought after “Genius Awards”. Mr. West was honored this past Saturday at the annual gala but sadly wasn’t present as Dina was busy on stage in NYC at The Laurie Beechman Theatre this weekend but excepted via cell phone to presenter and previous Genius Award winner, Sarah Rudinoff. The prestigious award includes FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS so we’re expecting to see some FABULOUS production values for this year’s “Dina Martina Christmas Show” an annual and much beloved holiday tradition at Re-bar.

And, in the smoothest segue in the history of blogging, tickets are now on sale for the 2012 edition of the hit show which runs November 23 through December 31, 2012 at Re-bar. Friday and Saturday shows usually sell out quickly, so don’t dawdle if you have a specific date in mind…

We’re not sure if Dina can surpass last year’s show which featured Ms Martina in a turkey costume being “stuffed” with foam croutons and celery, but we’re confident she’ll manage. With that $5k in hand, she can afford a new costume and croutons from WholeFoods…

And, huge CONGRATS to the genius known as Grady West!
