Oh, my…occasionally there are days/weekends where there is a MONSTROUS convergence of events all happening at the same time….there is one of those happening this coming Thursday, October 11 with the SLGFF opening and “Wicked” at The Paramount and the J. Von Stratton Fashion Show at The Triple Door and several other events as well.
There’s also the train wreck developing for Saturday, October 27th…that’s the Saturday before Halloween so naturally most of the big spooky events are happening that night, including Gay City’s huge BUMP party at Neumos and many others on the Hill as well. But, there’s some stuff happening OFF the Hill as well, and one of them sounds like a doozy of a good time.
DJ Disco Vinnie has been putting on his huge Halloween event, “Shake Your Ghoul Thing” for several years, and every year it just gets bigger and bigger. It started out as a private, friends only event, but the huge success of it led it to going public. This year, Vinnie has planned the Grandaddy of all “Ghoul” events…he’s taking over the Maritime Museum at Bell Harbor down on Pier 66 (2203 Alaskan Way) for a night of nautical themed horror fun. Here’s what Vinnie has to say about it:
We are very excited for our new venue, the Maritime Museum at Bell Harbor (at Pier 66 no less!). There are so many fun nooks and crannies here, and ALL of the exhibits will be functional. Our theme will be Ghost Ship which seems fitting for Seattle, and the three educational movie rooms will be converted to Horror Movie theatres all playing some of scariest water themed horror movies.
We love the idea of “nooks and crannies”!
Not to mention that this year’s party is also a fundraiser for Seattle Counseling Service with a portion of the proceeds going to an organization that does so much for the community.
Mama Tits will be hosting with performances from Tipsy Rose Lee, Miss Kitty Baby and Atasha Manila and a special appearance from the legendary Aleksa Manila, supporting her favorite non-profit. Vinnie will be spinning all night long and there will be the obligatory costume contest with some terrific prizes.

Oh, yeah…”Shake Your Ghoul Thing” is media sponsored by SGS so we’ll be lurking around in the nooks taking your not so lovely photos. We’re also a part of BUMP so we’ll be all over the damn place that night in our SGS Command Center…you have been warned.
