GSBA Face to Face Candidate Forum

September 10, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

  • « Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments, Midnight Release
  • Join GJL at Rachel’s Ginger Beer (Trans Pride SWAG pickup) »

How is Seattle thriving during these boom times? Who is benefiting in our city, and who is being left behind? What voices are at the table, and which are left behind? What will Seattle’s City Council look like in 2020? Who will be making decisions that will affect your business, the LGBTQ community, and your neighborhood?

Hear where your candidates stand at our annual Face to Face forum, featuring critical races in Seattle. Moderated by Brady Piñero Walkinshaw (CEO, Grist.org and former 43rd District Representative) and Liz Dunn (Principal, Dunn & Hobbes) this is a must attend candidate forum for small business owners, members of the LGBTQ community, and those who care about the future of their city.

ACCESSIBILITY
Broadway Performance Hall is centrally located at the corner of Broadway and E Pine Street, easily accessible by public transportation including Link Light Rail (Capitol Hill Station), the First Hill Streetcar (Broadway and Pine stop), and many King County Metro bus lines. Seattle Central College has a garage at 1609 Harvard Avenue across the street from the venue, and side-street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.

ASL interpreters provided by the Hearing, Speech, and Deaf Center will be present at this event.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
