We don’t know but even though Sylvia O’Stayformore has announced she is ceasing monthly production of BACON STRIP, the “Big Gay Variety Show”, we’re hoping/guessing she’ll still continue to do her yearly MISS BACON STRIP PAGEANT. If not, then Saturday, May 10 MIGHT be the final chance to see who wins the possible final bacon crown.

Yes, Miss Bacon Strip 2014 is happening tomorrow night at Theatre Off Jackson with Sylvia and Company on hand to see which of the contestants will triumph. Here’s all the poo you need to know:

Sylvia O’Stayformore and Mizz Honey Bucket, local performers from the outrageous Bacon Strip, have brought to you a different kind of drag pageant, Miss Bacon Strip! Come on down to Theatre Off Jackson for a show that will go down in history.

Miss Bacon Strip has enriched careers of each winner by one hundred fold. Our first winner in 2011 was none other than Jinkx Monsoon. 2012’s winner was artist and performance genius Ho Mo Arigato, currently running around New York as a local illuminati. 2013’s winner was Colony, a local wonder and much celebrated performer for her ability to send audience members into therapy directly after a performance.
2014 is bringing 5 queens into running for the final 2014 Miss Bacon Strip Title. The Contests will be judged on the following:

1) Audience Response
2) Appearance, ie Costume/Hair/Make-Up – not that they are “pretty” but they pulled off the look they were going for.
3) Performance – is this a polished, well- executed performance with energy and charm or something whipped together at the last second…
4) Originality/Creativity – is this a unique and interesting performance and presentation, or something we’ve seen before done by a thousand other queens
5) Charisma – do they have stage presence and the ability to be a “star” on stage and perform under pressure
6)”Bacon-osity” – do they embody the spirit of “Bacon Strip”? Bonus points for actually including bacon in the act.

Contestants include some of favorite Bacon Strip regulars along with some new talent who have yet graced the stage with their talents. The contestants will be fighting it to be Ms. Bacon Strip 2013 and win that bouquet of bacon roses, tiara and will ride in the 2014 Pride Parade.
