It’s back…the ‘Mo Wave Queer Arts Festival returns to Seattle for the….third year? Fourth?

I’ve lost track. Dementia.

Mostly showcasing local and national queer performance artists of all genres and largely centered on live performances at Chop Suey, the weekend festival kicks off Thursday evening, November 12, 2015 with the opening reception for the ‘Mo Wave Art Exhibit at Vermillion Gallery, 1508 11th Avenue on Capitol Hill happening between 6pm and 9pm. It’s FREE and features the following artists:

Andrew Lamb Schultz
C. Davida Ingram
Free Witch Quarterly
Grant Rehnberg
Joey Veltkamp
Leigh Riibe
Liana Kegley
Lynda Sherman
Mario Lemafa
Rafa Esparza
Rio Abundez
Tara Thomas
Topher McCulloch
Storme Webber

This year’s exhibit was curated by Davora Lindner and Steven Miller.

Thursday’s opener will feature live performances by Mal DeFleur and Storme Webber with DJ Ozma Otacava.

While the ‘Mo Wave Festival just runs this weekend, this exhibit will be up at Vermillion through December 5, 2015.

Following the art opening, there will be an after party at Pony until the wee wee hours of the morning with ‘Mo Wave headliner, Zebulon Gone playing a preview teaser live & dj set. Seattle’s new favorite creature queen, Cucci Binaca will serve as hostess with music provided by Mister Sister + DeeJay Jack.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
