Seattle Gay Scene is an intellectually and physically aroused sponsor of these two upcoming events. Here are the sleazy, perky details. Will you pick what’s behind door number one?
Cock & Bull
This freaky fun party for queer dudes and their friends is the first Saturday of every month. That means Saturday, September 7, running 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. This month’s guest DJs are Kadeejah Streets and J-Sun. There’s also a giant video screen with a trashy video mashup. So you get to stimulate your ear holes and your visual cortex. Be aware they do not have Go-Go Boys. Nope, they have Go-Go Men! Plus Jell-O shots which is a pretty queer thing if you think about it. Since it’s Re-bar you can dance or hang out by the bar side (and actually be able to hear that cute object of your affection like totally talking). This enables flirting of a sexual nature, the best kind of flirting. $5 cover. www.rebarseattle.com
Or will you pick what’s behind door number two?
Sci-Fi Bacon Strip: Mizz Honey Gets Probed!
Imagine if Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds had been sponsored by a bacon conglemerate. Enter Sci-Fi Bacon Strip: Mizz Honey Gets Probed! coming this Saturday, September 7, 10 p.m., to new location Theater Off Jackson. Bacon Strip is back! Now a little primer on Theater Off Jackson. It’s in the International District. It’s a great space. And Jackson Street used to be Seattle’s Jazz district in the golden days. Perhaps Bacon Strip will usher in the creation of a new drag district? And Bacon Strip is kind of like jazz. Risque yet artful. Improvisational yet intentional. Low class yet inspiring. Depraved yet homey. Vagina-y yet also penis-y and ass-y. Is penis-y an adverb?
Saturday’s line up includes Honey Bucket, Sylvia O’Stayformore, Ho Mo Arigato, Ursula Major (is she back in town for good!?), Cherry Sur Bete, Ade’, Kerry and James Darling, Sashay Supernohhva-Michaels (thank you, cut and paste), and Fyóla Vönblakk (seriously, shout out to control c and control v).
Rounding out the talent are DJ Tony Burns, stage studs Keegan Laux and Derek Pane, and Nathan Wayne serving up bonafide bacon. Tix are $10 in advance via www.baconstripseattle.com or $12 at the door.
